Owing to the rapid economic and population growth witnessed in Johannesburg’s South since the late nineties, the Comaro Chronicle (as a new addition to the large and diverse Caxton CTP stable) was designed to meet residents’ demands for a reliable, accurate and trustworthy community newspaper. Founded in 2008, the Comaro Chronicle has grown from strength to strength over the years, and is today the premier source of information for local and community news, local sports results and fixtures, local schools news, municipal and crime news, lifestyle and entertainment news, church news and more. In just a few years, the publication has earned a reputation for placing community interests at the fore, and providing only the very best reporting; indeed, many see the Comaro Chronicle as a valued and respected member of their community.

Whereas the publication is still youthful, it has nonetheless inherited some of the South’s major attractions, and has partnered extensively with important community stakeholders to create a positive and meaningful impact upon the communities it serves (that is, residents of areas to the South of the N12). In fact, the Comaro Chronicle’s commendable involvement earned the newspaper a Gold Award at the annual Professional Management Review (PMR) Africa Leaders and Achievers ceremony in 2012.

The focus on community and the provision of industry leading quality news items have undeniably set the Comaro Chronicle apart from any potential competitor.

As a member of the digital age, the newspaper has also established an impressive online presence. The website breaks the latest news as it happens, and its many followers on social media platforms stand as testament to the Comaro Chronicle’s status as the South’s premier newspaper.

With 21 300 copies of the newspaper distributed in the South of Johannesburg every week, the Comaro Chronicle is a powerful marketing channel that reaches household decision makers and an economically active audience.
