Founded in 1838, Msunduzi is a local municipality in the Kwazulu-Natal province. This unique location of the vast Kwazulu-Natal province derives its name from the Msunduzi river which is a tributary of the Mngeni river which runs across the province.

Established in 2008, Eyethu Msunduzi community newspaper has endeared itself to residents of Edendale and Pietermaritzburg South as a credible and independent source of news and current affairs. Published in isiZulu as the language of choice, this newspaper commands large and loyal readership considering the provinces attachment to the Zulu culture, language and traditions.

Eyethu Msunduzi has an admirable print order of 35,000 copies which are distributed every Thursday into Edendale, Pietermaritzburg South and surrounding areas.
