Ridge Times

Secunda is a fairly newly established town in Mpumalanga province which came into being in the early 1980’s, after a merger of Sasol Two and Three. Sasol Two and Sasol Three, which are among the largest industrial refineries in the world produce diesel, synthetic fuel, petrochemicals and related fuels from the process of producing syngas. Other economic activities in Secunda include agriculture with a strong property development sector developing in the area.

The Ridge Times sees itself as the watchdog that looks after the interests of the community reporting to them on local news of importance such as community affairs, school, sport and church news, municipal news, police news, events and life style news, hard news and more. Readers of the Ridge Times range from young school pupils to pensioners, who all eagerly await the arrival of this newspaper every Wednesday.
