Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape Province, on the South African coast, is a region of diverse climates, landscapes and spectacular beauty – from the rough seas, rugged cliffs and the lush forests of the Wild Coast and Keiskamma Valley to the dry and desolate Great Karoo – the scenery is stunning beyond words. The spectacular coastline, replete with rocky coves, long stretches of unspoilt sandy beaches, towering cliffs and secluded lagoons, is the province’s main tourist attraction.

The province that has a population of around 6.5 million people and takes up 13.9% of South Africa’s land area is the country’s second-largest province after the Northern Cape.

Port Elizabeth, in Algoa Bay, is the largest city in the region. Together with East London, Bisho and Uitenhage, it forms the centre of the region’s manufacturing industry.  Major vehicle manufacturers that are based in Port Elizabeth are Volkswagen S.A. and the Ford Motor Company of S.A.; while assembly plants in the province are run by General Motors S.A. and Daimler, through its subsidiary, Mercedes Benz S.A.

Because of its convenient port location and proximity to other major cities in South Africa, Port Elizabeth plays a significant role in its contribution to the port and harbour industry of the country.

Local Advertiser is a part of the Caxton group, publishing newspapers in all of the country’s provinces. As a major participant in the print media industry in South Africa, we continually push the boundaries by reviewing the position of our publications to ensure that they are strategically placed, serving the community and advertisers alike.

We publish and deliver thousands of newspapers to all the areas of the Eastern Cape on a weekly basis. Advertisers can easily reach their target market in this fast developing region with its vibrant economy by advertising in one of our local community newspapers, including: Go and Express in East London; Algoa Sun in the northern and western suburbs, Motherwell and Walmer; Our Times in Jeffreys Bay, or any of our other newspapers distributed in the region.
